OMG! Where have the last four weeks gone? I guess that’s how it is with newborns, everything blends together in a big blur.
I am happy to say that since Jeff has been back at work we have settled into a nice routine. The days when my parents come to help are golden. The days when I am by myself are a bit rough, but I muddle through.
At night the girls are sleeping better now. We usually go to bed around 12am and get up around 9am. They feed on demand throughout the night, alternating turns.
As for getting out, with the help of bottles I get to go out with Sawyer on Jeff’s days off which is great. Even an hour out of the house to get groceries let’s me feel human again (rather than a nursing cow) and I get to spend some quality time with my little man.
Speaking of Sawyer, I can’t tell you how great he has been with the girls. I was worried he would be jealous or act out, but he has been amazing. He talks about how he loves his sisters all the time! He kisses them and helps change their diapers and fixes their blankets for them. I am so proud of him. Now if only he could be so nice to the dogs!
Today is also one week away from the Lady Gaga concert. I am nervous about leaving the girls for so long but we bought these tickets a long time ago and Jeff and I deserve some fun time after all our hard work. Not sure what I am going to wear yet. Which leads into my body.
After the girls were born I lost 30 lbs by 10 days post partum. Then things kinda halted. I have at best lost another 4-5lbs since then. My tummy is still shrinking (obviously nothing can help the spongy pouch of skin right now). Still have to wear maternity jeans. It will be a long time before I can even attempt my old “fat” jeans, but I am hopeful to be looking good once the weather starts to warm up and we start going outside, and I can’t hide under my down jacket.
Well gotta run, Sawyer is getting crazy.
