So for those of you who haven’t had children I am sure one of the thoughts on your mind is, what will my body look like after?
Well, after the twins, I can happily say that in just nine weeks I have lost almost 40 of the 50 pounds I gained. My body however…
I went to Marshalls (it’s next door so I went while the girls were napping) this morning to look for a shirt for the concert. I found one I reasonably liked and decided to try it on. Now, let me preface this by saying the only mirrors we have here are the small ones in the bathroom. So, as I stood in the mirror and looked at myself it was quite a shocker. From the side I actually look quite thin, thinner than most people regularly, never mind after having 14lbs of baby in their belly. From the front however, not so good! I still have my twin pouch, which is a big pouch of wrinkley, saggy skin, that I jokingly refer to having the texture of an old man’s bum (and no, I do not speak from experience 🙂 ). I expected that.
But it was my boobs that shocked me the most. They are ginormous from nursing two babies, and sag halfway down my body 😦 . And you know how one boob is kinda bigger than the other? Well, for some reason (and this didn’t happen with Sawyer) nursing has caused the size difference to more than double! They look utterly ridiculous, probably 2 cup sizes apart they are no longer a set, but leftover mismatches! Now there’s something they don’t tell you about in the pregnancy books. LOL
I keep pondering about posting belly pics since before I gave birth I scoured the net looking for some and found them quite hard to find (understandibly, I mean who wants to show that). But then I just don’t get around to it (plus its really hard with only small bathroom mirrors). I am in my 30s so I don’t expect that to go away anytime soon. It took me nine months to get rid of my “pouch” after Sawyer (thank goodness for support undergarments). So in the meantime I will continue wearing my maternity jeans and being proud of my accomplishments, and stay out of fitting rooms.
Still don’t have a shirt for the concert!
