Potty training a success! (Knock on wood).

It has now been four days since we began potty training Sawyer. I couldn’t be happier with the result. He has not had an accident since early on day two. He is even going to the potty all by himself. I am only helping him clean up after he poops.

The next challenge is going to be taking him outside. Since he doesn’t know how to “hold it” yet we are going to try going to try walking to Tims.  They have a washroom there if he needs to go before the way back. If he does okay with that we might try walking the dogs tomorrow.  I will bring spare pants with me just in case! LOL

I guess, in hindsight, it did pay off waiting until he was older. He can effectively communicate when he has to go, dress and undress himself and even wash his hands. When we first tried he was too young for all of that.

I can’t tell you how happy I am! I know it’s early days but I am so proud of him and I feel a huge sense of accomplishment for myself since I did all the work and cared for three month old twins. I do miss working a lot but I also enjoy being a mom more than I ever thought I would.  I love my kids more than anything. They give my life a sense of meaning and purpose.  Laugh at me if you want but my life before them seems hollow (or at least part of it). Anyways getting back on track, now I only have two kids diapers to change instead of three.  Hazaa!
