Recently one of my fellow mommy bloggers posted about ways to save money. One of the things I read more than once were cutting dryer sheets in half. Cutting dryer sheets in half I pondered. I had never thought of that. But then again, I never thought much about dryer sheets at all!
Growing up we did not have a dryer and my mom dried all our clothes on clothes lines. My first experience with dryers was when I was in graduate school and I got my own apartment.
Towels don’t have to feel like sandpaper! Who knew?
Anyways, shrank most of my clothes, but they felt soft and no ironing required. Never used a dryer sheet.
The townhouse has its own washer dryer. I never used dryer sheets until my mom bought me some because they were on sale (she is thoughtful like that). Far as I can tell they help with smell and static cling. I was putting in two or three sheets.
Now, back to the beginning (I know, get to the review already). My mom bought me a Bounce dryer bar. It is a bar that sticks inside the dryer and lasts for up to three months. No sheets required.
-no loose sheets floating in your clean laundry (somehow they end up everywhere)
-it is cheaper than sheets. I got a refill on sale for $4. That’s $1.33 a month. Pretty cheap if you ask me.
-you don’t have to remember to put the sheets in (hubs always forgets)
-it smells like Bounce! LOL I happen to not really like the smell. (Love the smell of Gain by the way).
-dryer sheets do have other uses like keeping shoes fresh etc.
-how will I remember when it gets to three months? Sometimes those things you can “forget about” get forgotten about for too long.
Overall: I give it 3.5 out of 5. I like it, but I don’t love it. I would not necessarily recommend it to a friend, but I would tell them to give it a shot and see what they think.
