Wordy Wednesday: Kids Say the Darndest Things

image

Instead of Wordless Wednesday, this week I thought we’d have a Wordy Wednesday instead.

Sawyer was very slow learning to talk, in fact he was almost a mute until he was two years old.  Then, in a matter of weeks he was speaking in sentences.  Since then he has amused me time and time again with some of his funny lines.

Honestly, I wish I had written them down since I have now forgotten so many, so if you haven’t do keep a record of these things.  I plan to with the girls.

So I thought I’d share a few with you to get started, and then let’s have everyone post something funny from their kids and we can all have a wordy and humorous Wednesday 🙂

Keep in mind, he is only two.

-Walking down the street, Sawyer is leading in front.  My dad asks him “oh, are you the leader?” “No,” he replies “I’m Sawyer”.

-We were sitting on the couch and Sawyer turned to me and said “my boobs hurt”.  Stunned but also amused I said “your boobs hurt?” “Yes” he said, “I have been nursing all day!”

-We were in Marshalls and we saw a box containing an inflatable boat.  He looked at the box and said “it’s a Blu-ray and you have to go and register it at TV.com”.

-He was out with my mom and they went into Staples for paper.  She read the “now hiring” sign on the door aloud.  Sawyer shook his head and said “I don’t have a resume. Uncle Ryan has a resume”.

-We were building sandcastles in the park.  Dad walked up to us and said, “what are you digging for?” Sawyer replied (quite authoritatively), “we are digging for dinosaur muscles”.

So let’s hear yours.  I am sure there are some good ones out there.  After all, kids say the darndest things.

  1. I had a mini human friend that learnt and repeated words over and over loudly whilst pointing. This was funny until one day the word of the week was ‘vegetable’ and we were in a hospital with lots of poorly humans being wheeled past on trolley beds and wheelchairs! =^.^=

  2. One of my twin daughters noticed that one of her toys said ‘made in China’ on it. She came over to me to show me and said “Wow Mummy, Santa went a long way to get this for me!”
