The Rising Cost of Coffee As A Parent

About Shannon

I am a university educated full-time working mother of four children. Proudly Canadian, I freeze my butt off along with my loving partner, two dogs and a cat. I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I love writing them, but if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

  1. You should see it now when we go to the coffee shop. That would be a treat, by the way! The big kids list off something that sounds like a triple espresso venti latte that costs something like a small fortune by the time they are done. In the midst of all the chatter, I am stating over and over again- “I will only pay $4, after that you pay!” The younger kids, Praise God, are content with their kid hot chocolate or steamer. By the time we are done there $50 is gone!!! But the coffee shop people have witnessed something that will make their day!! HAHAHA!!!!

    • Oh I can hardly wait. That’s why I only go to tims or McDonald’s because it’s cheap I don’t even pay $4 for a coffee for myself! Going is the one thing I look forward to I think I would die to give it up. I am still laughing at your comments, funny but true. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Oh my lord this post is fantastically true. I have four kiddos and unfortunately am addicted to caffeine. It got so expensive I actually make coffee the old fashioned way – in my coffee pot. But when we do grab coffee it is seriously close to $20. Good grief.

    • You know, I would if I could but I can’t stand the hot stuff. I only drink iced coffee and when I make it at home it doesn’t even come close to what the bought stuff tastes like. I realized after some of the comments I am getting off easy since my littles are too young to ask for lattes! Thanks for stopping by.
